Sex and the city is about a New York writer on sex and love is finally getting married to her Mr. Big. But her three best girlfriends must console her after one of them inadvertently leads Mr. Big to jilt her. Colombiana is about a young woman, after witnessing her parents' murder as a child in Bogota, grows up to be a stone-cold assassin. However, the representation of places in these two films are different we as the audiences get different views and opinions of the places. For example, in Sex and the city we see tall skyscrapers and a really wealthy buildings we as the audience get the view of New York being a wealthy place to be in. Also when looking at opening squeal of the film opening we see the characters and how they are dressed the glamorous heels and the dress she is wearing we can notice that wealth in the city, just by observing the way the characters are. However, when comparing the opening sequel to Colombiana we see smaller buildings and slums also the building the opening have graffiti and colour of the buildings look dull and poor here the audiences can notice that Colombia isn't as wealthy as New York. When analysing the custom the characters are wearing we get an impression of what the place is like for instance, in sex and city all the character plus even the people the in background are dress sophisticatedly such as suit, shirt and neat clothing. However when looking at the custom that the characters are wearing in Colombiana they are mainly casual and scruffy for example dirty t-shirts and vests.
